O que e uma GPU e por que esta biblioteca existe

Uma GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) renderiza imagens, videos e cenas 3D. No navegador, parte dessa identidade aparece via WebGL/WebGPU, muitas vezes como renderer string: "ANGLE (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060)".

A CheckProxy.org mantem uma biblioteca comunitaria baseada em scans anonimos do My GPU. Cada item registra renderer, vendor, tipo de plataforma (PC, Laptop, Workstation ou Mobile) e ultimo avistamento.

Essa base reflete fingerprints reais do navegador, util para devs, QA, pesquisa de privacidade e quem usa ambientes com varios perfis.

Breve historia das GPUs

Chips graficos dedicados surgiram nos anos 1980. Nos anos 1990, 3dfx Voodoo, NVIDIA RIVA e ATI Rage levaram 3D ao publico.
